The role

Product Scientists work as part of the Production Team to produce, manage, characterize and provide technical support for a variety of products including antibodies, assay kits and companion products. This position will be responsible for a wide variety of activities including bench work (estimated 40% of the time), product customer/technical support/service (25%), coordination of product related activities (35%).

You'll have the opportunity to...

  • Produce quality product lots to ensure availability for customer orders
  • Works closely with Product Development to ensure timely release of new products
  • Designs and completes moderately complex scientific experiments including western blots, immunoprecipitation, tissue culture, transfections, ELISAs, assays, and affinity purifications in support of producing and characterizing product lots with limited guidance
  • Consistently follows protocols and can produce quality data independently
  • Draws appropriate conclusions to moderately complex experiments with limited guidance
  • Assists customers with product related questions by phone and email, answering technical inquiries independently
  • Uses online research tools and literature searches to support experimental design and to resolve technical support issues
  • Manages inventory of products and coordinates availability with Global Supply Chain teams to fulfill customer orders
  • Works closely with Sales & Marketing teams to ensure accuracy and clarity of product data sheets and customer messaging
  • Works cross-functionally as a team member to meet departmental and company goals

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • Bachelors degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology)
  • 4 years of laboratory bench work experience with a bachelors degree or 2 years of experience with a masters degree
  • Domain knowledge of multiple signaling pathways and their interdependencies
  • Experience working with antibodies including western blotting, ELISA, and immunoprecipitation techniques
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, transfections and protein work
  • Demonstrated success in being highly accountable and meeting deadlines

Ideally, you have...

  • Masters degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology). PhD a plus
  • Working knowledge of technical support tools (e.g. Salesforce.com)
  • Strong comfort level and understanding of workflow tools a plus
