The role

The Lab Technician II Buffer Prep is primarily responsible for following standard operating procedures, with increasingly limited supervision and as part of a team, to provide high quality chemical solutions, highly responsive service and to perform a wide variety of basic laboratory tasks in support of CSTs Production, Development, and Research laboratories.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Following standard work instructions, prepare and maintain stock buffers and key reagents for internal use by CST labs (western blot buffers, PBS, bacterial media, acid/base solutions, etc).
  • Following standard work instructions, prepare and fill requests for buffer and reagent solutions for external use in CST products or product kits.
  • Perform rounds to determine daily prep schedule and restocking needs.
  • Adhere to CSTs Quality and Lab Safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records for traceability of material produced, including using electronic record-keeping systems.
  • Conduct routine lab organization activities to support chemical supply inventories and continuous improvement.
  • Establish positive working relationships with the Lab Operations team and CST scientists (internal customers).
  • Assist with other aspects of the Lab Operations group as needed.

 

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • BS/BA Degree in Chemistry or related science; or Biotechnology Certificate and 1+ year directly applicable work experience.
  • Experience with computer programs, such as MS Office, Google docs and sheets.
  • Service and safety oriented, self-motivated and proactive.
  • Organized, strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to follow protocols and directions, rarely making errors.

Language Skills:

  •  Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Biotechnology or Pharma ISO9001 lab environment.
  • Experience with electronic lab notebooks.
  • Experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Dependable and responsible.
  • Ability to work quickly and methodically
